Bank of England has to now, the British economy can’t stand a weak pound with that level of borrowing, the Euro will follow with more interest rate rises in Dec, the hope at this point is that coming recession is a short one and economies can rebound quickly.

I really hope so. With some of the big hitting MPs at risk of losing their seats, she either needs to do it so that she can say she has a mandate, or I imagine she will be gone within 2 months. Especially if letters of NC are actually already going in.

Either way, another leadership contest would force a GE shortly after because they will be in the same boat of needing a mandate from a fed up public.

Can't see them calling an election themselves. This will be their one shot at running the country and they'll want to see it through. She's said she's prepared to be unpopular.
