I wasn't motivated by greed, far from it, I expected to shell out more, but at least it would benefit an ailing society.

Of course it's a good deal for the UK. What's a billion or two going to help NI compared with the gazillions Corbyn would have borrowed and wasted for our kids to pay back. The political hypocrisy coming out of Scotland on this matter is laughable considering they demand money for anything at the drop of a hat. We on mainland U.K. tend to forget about NI to some degree but this may give a good kickstart for the further development of the province......

For absolute staggering hypocrisy you only need to look at what Green said yesterday about Scottish councils having enough money from government but they dont know how to spend it.

After the reprehensible behaviour of the tory council in Kensington how he got away with that remark beggars belief.

It would be exactly the same if Corbyn tried to do a deal with the LD's and the SNP. The LD's would have demanded money be spent on some outlandish items, the SNP would have extracted both money and another vote on independence. This is what happens when greedy people buy into all the freebies Corbyn promised......

As has already been pointed out Pete. .. I would have expected to pay more under a labour government. .. but it would have towards funding investment which would benefit the many..not the few.

Not quite. Corbyn told everyone it would be paid for by 'the rich' which was a deliberate untruth. If he said quite openly that tax rates will all go up by 5% or whatever then fair enough, but he didn't. Like you I have no problem is raising personal taxation to pay for improved services, but McDonnell said he was going to borrow money because he knew that taxing 'the rich' wouldn't cover it, thereby just passing debt onto the young.

I saw May use that phrase today when she pointed out the inconsistencies of Corbyn between what he says for public consumption and what he is saying in private. As she said 'he says one thing to the many and another to the few'.......
