Seems a bit odd doesnt it? With his son, follows the fella over what seems to be a petty argument, then seems to keep blocking his path at the end of the CCTV
I operate cctv for a living.
This fella gets off with the manslaughter if he's got a decent brief.

Tragic, obviously, but putting his hand on the rail, essentially blocking him in is the key for me.

That fella seems the aggressor in the CCTV to me,I cant get my head around him doing what he done when he has his son with him

He's not denied stabbing him.
18 times must have looked horrific for a jury though.
I'm sticking with manslaughter.

Dont get me wrong the accused if a kin turd for having a blade and using it that many times but the victim put himself there for no obvious reason, yes words were exchanged but you would just tell him to do one

Just because he blocked him doesn't mitigate anything really for me.
The force used wasn't necessary or proportionate and stabbing him 18 times shows intent to kill.
He should get life.

Reports suggest that a witness openly declared that the suspect was going to "kill this man", which if you combine with the ferocity of the assault will be a big part.

The video doesn't really help the victim however and witnesses haven't spoke too highly of him; I am going for murder but manslaughter wouldn't surprise me.

@jaycee some people simply can't let stuff lie and have to impose their own perceived 'righteousness' on others, rather than sucking it up and walking away.

In no way am I defending the actions of the defendant, far from it, but from experience I suspect he'd still be alive if he had told him k'off and moved away.

Thats what I mean Phil, after the accused left the carriage,he could have sat down and the son he was with would still have a parent, just seems a silly thing ruined a lot of lives

Be amazed if he gets away with manslaughter after stabbing someone 18 times in 25 seconds...
In the cold light of day I'd say yes, but I am sure the defendant's team will be arguing self-defence and manslaughter based on 'diminished responsibility'.

It'll of course be up to the jury to decide, who'll have much more information, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility. It's unfortunately not a clear-cut trial.

Thinking locally, back in the 90s but two bouncers assaulted a man on the back steps of the Coach and Horses (Qs) in Woolton and he died - no murder conviction

More infamously, you have the Tony Martin appeal who shot a burglar in the back as he was leaving and his murder was quashed, although a perceived 'dead cert'.
