I can't take a "side" in this argument just because the cases for both sides aren't an equal argument.
The police need to make sure they have proper procedures and weed out the bad apples from the cases that are obviously unlawful killings.
The black community need to stop acting like every black person that is killed by a cop was a saint and it was unlawful. This is a falsehood.
Then there's the grey area where the cops need to be protected. If someone continually refuses to obey instruction and has a weapon, threatens to use a weapon or is a real danger then the cops need to know they can protect themselves. This includes people with real looking replicas and toys, cops can't take the chance of putting a life at risk because someone fronts a cop with what looks like a real gun.
