Yanks are just weird. Absolute control freaks and somehow think guns solve everything!! If he was convicted of paedophilia to the extremes people are claiming then he should be in prison more than 4 years. Looking at that video he shouldn't have been shot in that situation but I agree with @Tubey we don't know if he was armed and making a beeline for his gun. Obviously killing somebody should always be last resort which the yank police don't seem to grasp, but people shouldn't jump to conclusions

Just seen this doing the rounds on Twitter. Madness.
I appreciate you've used the NSFW tag but I've edited this to stop anyone who browses here from accidentally clicking this video when they may regret it later.

Please just bear that in mind for future folks.

the problem i have is shooting never seems to be the last possible option

And being shot could be the result of not taking that option.

I have to put myself in the shoes of the police, and honestly if I feared for my life (which would be every single time that situation happened given guns are like sweets over there), a big guy was resisting arrest and you spot a gun on his person, I'd shoot first and ask questions later, safe in the knowledge I'm still alive.

If the guy didn't resist arrest, this situation doesn't happen. So yeah, as vicious as the video looks, I'm afraid I'm with the cops on this one.

Also, the race card has been played well too early again. If that's a white guy resisting arrest, same outcome. People comparing it with the arrest of Dylann Roof, who wasn't shot - well that was because Dylann Roof didn't resist arrest. That simple.

The crime should fit the punishment. It's not clear that his crime was anything more than being black, and these cases are not infrequent. There is a serious problem with policing in America.

I'm fairly sure it was resisting arrest while having a gun, rather than being black.

Here's a thought - if you don't want to get shot in the USA by the police, don't resist arrest while in possession of a gun.

Not rocket science is it?

Sterling was allegedly selling bootlegged music. That is not punishable by death.

Eric Garner was selling illegal (untaxed) cigarettes. That is also not punishable by death.

Tamir Rice was shot to death playing in a park.

John Crawford III was shot to death shopping in Walmart, talking on his phone.

None of these actions are punishable by death, not even resisting arrest. Some of them are not even illegal.

The constant in all of this is the incompetence of police.

I beg to differ.

If you're resisting arrest and armed, expect a cop to take pre-emptive action.

By the way, reports say he threatened someone with a gun as well, not just selling CDs. But that's beside the point.
