They aren't trying to "out-fascist" each other. Those states are huge attraction for conservatives around the country to settle down in, from especially California and these states are trying their best to attract those conservative into their states and their businesses to move in too.
This is about as enlightening as my pontificating on politics in the UK, which is to say it's depth is paper-thin.

Turning citizens into bounty hunters suing others in civil court for the temerity of assisting someone who wants to have a legal medical procedure isn't "conservative". Using the power of the state to punish private businesses for expressing ideas that don't fit "Christian" culture isn't "conservative". Targeting specific groups to deny them constitutional rights isn't "conservative". Allowing the State's most powerful attorney and lawman to remain in office despite him being under indictment for two separate charges, one of which has somehow managed to linger for more than 5 years, and under investigation for at least two other criminal offenses while also in violation of the State's whistleblower protection provisions isn't "conservative".

I could go on and on and that's just Texas. All of it is fascist to the core.

You are correct about one thing. More than half of the people moving to this state from California are the kind of "conservative" I've described above. They are banking their real estate gains and settling here due to "lower taxes" and cultural issues. However, the property value increases in Texas, which are in great part due to the influx of out-of-staters with relatively deep pockets, are starting to punish everyone because taxes in Texas are largely based on property values (it's not a 1-1 thing but value increases mean higher taxes - for instance taxes on our home residence have increased 33% over the last 5 years). And those Californians are moving to the cities/suburbs where property values have increased (on average) by 24% in just the last year. There's now an affordable housing crisis here.

Younger, educated, high-earning people from CA generally don't want to move here and LOADS of younger, educated, high-earning people in this state are leaving because the "conservatives" here are, in fact, fascistic.

Similar thing here in TN. Everyone likes to crow about how this is some sort of tax free paradise because we don't have a state income tax, but somehow don't account for the fact that we have one of, if not the highest sales tax rates in the country. Just because they get it $0.10 at a time doesn't mean they aren't getting it in the end. Yet you've got people making $30k a year thinking they are getting a great deal while actually paying one of the most regressive forms of tax.

Seems likely that more people would have survived if they could have had first aid quicker.

One teacher shot died while being transported to the hospital, the Times notes, and three children who were extracted from the classroom later died at the hospital from their injuries.

Your idea of fascism is another man's idea of liberalism.

To describe abortion as a "medical procedure" isn't accurate at all and I very much disagree with that sentence. I support a woman's choice as much as anybody else but there's gotta be fine line between morality and allowing choice. I'm more pro-life than I'm pro-choice but at the same time, I support the will of the people and if people want to be pro-life, then it's something I will support. It's what the 10th amendment was supposed to be. The GOP receive millions in donations from single-issue pro-choice voters and it's something that GOP will always live off until Roe v Wade gets repealed.

I have friends who have moved into DFW and they moved to DFW because they feel the state protects their values and beliefs, whilst sharing similar cultural views. The YouTuber I always link on here is from DFW and he has made it clear that he would never move to California because they promote anti-bibilical values. This is the beauty of America because we are able to choose where to live amongst a land of such contrasting political ideologies.

Not a single person I have ever met has a genuine fear of the devil. Only an idiot believes that rubbish in this day and age..
Sometimes it is hard for people to comprehend how low somebody's morality can sink and how much suffering has been faced. It's hard to think how somebody can become a serial killer and have so much evil inside them. So what's the best explanation or coping mechanism behind this? The power of the devil.

I rest my case.

I have a question for you. Since you hold these sort of views, have you ever contemplated on moving out of Texas and moving to a blue state?
Contemplated? Sure. When we go on vacay we typically fantasize about a new life.

My family has roots in Texas since the mid-1800s. My wife tells me I talk a good game about going elsewhere but I'm not leaving. She's right, as always.

What were the views of your forefathers? Did they have your typical conservative views of a Texan? Do you think your views have deviated a lot from your ancestors?

There’s obviously alternative explanations about immoral behaviour. How about an example like Charles Whitman?

Killed his mother. Killed his wife. Climbed a tower and shot and killed another 14 people randomly. Pretty evil right? The power of the devil? Maybe.

Whitman also left notes in a diary talking about the irrational, out of character, violent thoughts he’d been having, along with persistent headaches, and requested doctors perform an autopsy to establish if there was a biological reason for his intrusive thoughts and actions.

After his killing spree, and he’d been killed by cops, doctors found a tumour, pressing on his amygdala, an area of the brain associated with emotion and behavioural control.

Evil guy? Morally corrupt? Possessed by the devil and evil spirits? Or just terrible bad luck to have a tumour in just the wrong place of the brain.

It’s easy to imagine that violent and psychopathic behaviours are ultimately resultant of some sort of physical, biological fact about the brain, not a tumour necessarily, but some physical defect or abnormality.

Not sure an unprovable, devil hypothesis helps to explain a great deal here.
