I haven't bothered to read through the thread because, as you know, we've all been through this same song and dance before:

1) Shooting in America
2) Cue moral outrage on GOT
3) Attempt to discuss the debate in some sort of rational sense
4) Descending in shouting match and name calling
5) Thread closed

I imagine this one will end the same.

Best of luck.
With respect Bill.... it was usually you who locked them when you didn't agree with an opinion that differed from your own hahahaha

.001% Is not cause for the hysteria seen, people are pushing agendas

America has 5% of the world's population and 31% of all public mass shootings - it's pretty amazing that you don't think 50 more people dead in yet another attack is worthy of hysteria. What exactly qualifies as being worthy of hysteria in your book?

far be it from me to judge others but I just can't fathom why somebody would want to own a lethal weapon in the first place.

far be it from me to judge others...errrr....ok mate

If you was from the Wirral you'd want a lethal weapon...To deter the welsh from traversing your roads to get to Liverpool :p

The population of the U.K., for example, has risen too. However, gun death rates have fallen from 247 (1996) to 140 (2014), with some fluctuation in between. What's the difference?

The differences is proportional deaths are down

Tthese occourances are extremely rare and theres no reason to punish the vast majority of gun owners cause of the actions of a few nutters

Something thats actually a realistic threat

As i said before, we`re talking less than a hundreth of a one percent chance

but you know the media ‘If it bleeds it leads]

So what would happen if America banned guns???
They think we're going to invade them again. That's why the amendment was made in the first place and has never been, uh, amended.
They're gonna be having daily fish and chips soon, just they wait and see.

I couldn't trust myself with one , really wouldn't be a good idea , one flash of temper something daft in you head and someone is dead. I am not the right type of person , if there is a right type to own such a thing, but there would be nothing stopping me getting one if a lived in the USA.
saying that I suppose if you had them around you all your life you might think diffrent, not for the likes of me though.
