They have strict gun laws compared to other places. The problem of course being that a city law only effects the city and anyone with a car can drive elsewhere, including nearby pro-gun Indiana, and buy whatever they please. It's a typical conservative disingenuous argument.
Exactly. Unfortunately that also happens to be the exact reason we have almost no hope short of a vaccine of getting COVID under control.

Ah. And I suppose strict gun laws by US standards would still be considered a free for all by other countries?

Important facts.

Multiple recent shootings in the past month where young children and pregnant women are getting caught in the crossfire. Most of the shootings will be drug related in a battle for running the block, could be a disagreement over money, drugs, females, or any other litany of excuses. The innocent people just trying to get by suffer the most. Banning guns, restricting gun ownership will not make one iota of difference as most of the shooters already have criminal records, and access to firearms that are on the street illegally.

Philadelphia also has a weak district attorney and mayor in place at this time.

Defo think continuing America's decades long policy of doing absolutely eff all will solve the problem

Controversial thought - the 1st amendment is more to blame than the 2nd for mass shootings in the US.

If their media didnt glamourise these incidents I doubt they would be as prevalent- guns have been around a long time in the US and mass shootings were never as prevalent until the media / social media age of mass reporting which makes these individuals infamous in one act - something they obviously desire.

Thats not to say they are not very laidback when it comes to guns as they definitely are that and treat them like any other household item which is crazy.

The reason guns are so easy to get illegally is because so many are produced and bought legally. They don't just magically appear.

They still wouldn't be able to shoot up a school if they couldn't get their hands on an arsenal of weapons. It isn't a black and white issue but the crazy number of guns and the ease of access to them is a big part of the problem.

True however mass shootings have only become prevalent post Columbine/Virginia Tech - guns have always been around yet mass shootings were alot more unheard of in decades gone by which points more torwards a shift in society than the actual guns themselves.

A big issue is the media over there love shootings - the left can clamour for gun control, the right and NRA can sell more weappns as people panic that guns will be taken away and the media make money off the revenue of people tuning in / clicking articles and buying papers.

Everyones a winner over there except the victims.
