A no-knock warrant is an equivalent to many of our warrants where you do not need to announce by knocking etc., but are able to force entry to the premises.

You still shout "Police!" etc. when you're going through the threshold whether you're in civies or not, and if you do not well you're taking your own risks.

Regardless of whether they yell "police" at one in the morning what is to stop any intruder from doing that to you?

The law isn't perfect and cover every eventuality, but the difference is that if a police officer does shout it and you shoot them you're going to face a trial.

If a warrant is issued, the police have the right to enter as long as they follow the correct procedure. The point here is that we suspect they may not.

If they're not police and you shoot them, well that'll be an interesting investigation and potential trial.

No man, ths is a different case. It isn't a fully grown man repearsdly trespassing on an unguarded construction site at night.

Footage shows that a lot of different people have wandered around in that unattended construction site in the night and day both, so hopefully some other brave neighborhood vigilantes will step up to eradicate all the other trespassers.

I imagine there was something that set young Arbery apart from all the other people who traipsed through that construction site, which would mean that @Specials doesn't think they deserve to be shot by a posse in the same way

Yeah, apparently the video is 5-6 minutes long, so he wasnt just "passing by", he was actively involved in it from the start.
