My views reflect a huge swath of the American public, so like I said, it's inconsequential to me if you want to inaccurately describe me as "extreme." A pretty reasonable person from Boston just proposed making all AR-15 owners identify themselves to the government and go through NFA process to retain their weapons.

Your views do represent a large swath of radicalized 2A extremists. Recent polling on guns have shown that the vast majority of Americans favor stricter gun laws.

So edgy. But while we're relying so heavily on polling:

Recent polling shows 22% of people show support for repeal of the Second Amendment. 26% express at least some support for banning all handguns, and 55% express at least some support for banning all semi-automatic weapons.

Man, it looks most of us are either on the "radicalized 2A extremist" fringe, or we're over in that tiny extreme minority on gun banning. Just not much room leftover for sensible folks like you, cheese.

So an extreme fringe is ok with repealing the 2nd Amendment. Cool. They are extremists.

I think we agree on that.

The other two polls are so incredibly vague that I could say that 100% of them don't actually support banning anything.

It doesn't change that your argument of a tiny crack in the dam means total failure, and that you are an extremist. You represent the radical right on gun policy...just like the NRA.

One of you will bomb OKC again in the near future I fear.

Americans SHOULD have a right to bare arms, they can have the weapons that were around at the time the bill of rights came into existence. Let people try and commit mass murder while they have to stop and reload their muskets without being lynched.

I don't think they ever envisioned in 1791 handing semi automatic guns to kids when they signed it and to block any kind of sensible restrictions off the back of that document shows that Americans are not that bright. (Not saying that applies to everyone, just the majority of the political class :p )

Its amusing how backward folks refer back to this time and cherry pick the antiquated gun law. Funny they don't bring up other constitutional laws written by the privileged white tyrants from the same period, like owning black people, or white only citizenship, or white privileged male only vote, or thieving land from the "savages" (the British Royal Proclamation of 1763 was a major cause of the revolutionary war since it prohibited white Yankee invaders from seizing native land without signing a peace treaty with them).

Anyway, this fella nails it,

A sizeable number of the 2A nuts would prefer if many of the equality amendments written since had not been signed into law.Especially the racist ones.

Another thing, when they bring up this antiquated gun law, they keep awfully quiet about one of the reasons for it.

The law written by white tyrants was done so to ensure slave masters were armed for slave patrols. I mean we can't be having any blacks revolting against their slave masters now can we? It's a pity one of the 600 plus blacks owned by slave master Jefferson didn't own a gun to put a bullet through that tyrants head. Would have done humanity a favour, and possibly changed history too - his removal of the natives ("savages" to him) beyond the Mississippi before they were "put into cages" directly inspired Hitler ("Our Misssissippi must be the Volga").

Would be nice if the CDC had funding and freedom to be able to verify this type of research.

This one is definitely worth studying and any country with uncorrupt politicians would back additional research. But of the course the American government isn't corrupt, rather we are the greatest nation on earth so we are already doing everything as perfectly as is possible.

Gosh, if only we had some groups or organizations that were structured to do quality research on these issues. Wouldn't that be neat? Congress and the Administration could just say, "Here's some money, go take a serious look at it!"
Wouldn't it be nice....

You mean all those progressive liberal left-wing scientists with their truth-ey agendas and facts?
