Banning firearms will not stop any deranged individual from seeing through any act he/she has in their mind.

Weird that it seems to have worked in Australia then , no mass shootings since they banned 'rapid fire long guns' .

To quote " In the 18 years to 1996, Australia experienced 13 fatal mass shootings in which 104 victims were killed and at least another 52 were wounded. There have been no fatal mass shootings since that time, with the study defining a mass shooting as having at least five victims."

I'm aware I sound like him jim jefferies but I get that some people want to keep their firearms and if they want to they should say that but to state that banning them wouldn't do any good just isn't true .

I'll never forget being a 12 year old kid going to Florida on holiday, we went to a mall on the way back from the parks and there was a shop with just racks of guns everywhere. I'd never seen one in my life before then.

Kids over there grow up around firearms and have them in their homes! Absolutely crazy.

When is enough going to be enough? These mass shootings happen almost monthly now.

Still, they have their sacred Second Amendment.

It would reduce the production of weapons which would reduce the availability, it's the US, supply the demand economics.
Companies make these because there is a profit, no other reason at all.

How can it reduce the availability when there is already hundreds of millions on circulation ?

' As of today firearms are banned, please jog on down to your local police station and hand in your weapons. Thank you '

Yeah let's see how that goes down.

You actually think and believe ' banning ' firearms will make the slightest difference ? Really weird comment by you this, bizarre even.

Cocaine is a banned substance. If I really wanted to, I could be sniffing an 8 ball within 30 minutes.

Lets say for arguments sake that ' banning ' firearms was not only possible, but made a difference, go ahead and google Tim McVeigh.
There's a slight difference you snorting coke and someone having readily available access to weapons designed to rapidly end the lives of others though. There's been 273 mass shootings in the states this year, are you telling me some of those couldn't have been stopped if people couldn't go out and buy weapons?

And yep, you can kill a lot of people in other ways apart from with a gun, but the sheer bloody mindness to look at multiple incidents and not take into consideration the fact that people can get their hands on weapons with ease is boggling to me. Might be taking it down to a far too simple level, I dunno.

Nope you're missing the point.

Banned substance. Banned firearms. People will always get it no matter if the object is illegal. People will ALWAYS find a way, and that's the sad truth unfortunately.

The billions made from Gun sales inside USA is worth far more than the safety of people going about peaceful business. American Governments and states have a clear choice, regulate gun ownership or not, they choose not to.

Almost daily mass shootings unfortunately, most don't even make the national news.

That is on top of all the other gun related deaths (suicide being particularly high) - annual total roughly 33,000 people a year, in 2014 very close to amount of traffic deaths.

Your missing the point not all people will find a way...we should try ll means to stop this

Why does ANYONE need an auto/semi auto weapon?

Think Trump would be looking a lot closer to home than Kim Jong Un and North Korea if he really wants to protect American Citizens, Of course he won't and it'll be business as usual at the 100's of 1000's of places you can purchase a weapon at because there would be no money or patriotic glory in that so he'll keep taking that NRA money and things will only get worse.

But I think your missing the point also.

Drink Driving is illegal. Why is it illegal? Because it ended up with a lot of people dead. You can still do it, but if you get caught doing it then you end up in the brown stuff.

What happened when drink driving was enforced? Lots less people died.

The correlations there if you want to see it.
