It's bloody ridiculous. The Americans that support this gun law they have must be absolute morons. He must of had an assault rifle to kill 50 and injure the same again.

Indeed. It is an oft-repeated trope of the gun lobby, but whilst there are so many guns available and so many loons over there, I cannot fault anyone who would want to be armed themselves.

Family are going to Orlando next month for a wedding. Its put them off going out clubbing for the hen / stag dos over there. Really awful news.

I've lived almost my whole life in the States. Never felt any need to have a gun and don't know anyone who owns one.

Good luck to you then. I was just saying that in a country where there are 30 firearms homicides every day, I understand why some people might want to be armed.
