Defunding the police is a well-known policy of Establishment-backed Organisation BLM, an organisation generally regarded as being of the Left.

It's also a policy being funded by Wikipedia donations.

Source?

You realise we're talking about US politics, right?

I have no opinion on it. It's merely identified as a Far Left issue being funded by Wikipedia donations, which feeds into my own observation that The Establishment bends leftwards these days.

Who did that?

The promotion of diversity is merely identified as a Far Left issue being funded by Wikipedia donations, which feeds into my own observation that The Establishment bends leftwards these days.
I’m interested by your sudden interest in Wikipedia and Wikimedia. From what you’ve posted it’s been going this way for years in terms of their growing funding but you only today have become worried by it.

Sudden interest? It's merely evidence to back up a point i made earlier.

You only have to click back a few times to see the origin of this latest debate-development:

Once a private company has a monopoly on mainstream debate then we should be wary how it handles different ideas.

Clearly, the Left has become dominant in the mainstream debate-sphere, and this has been a disaster for free-thinking (just as it would be if the Right had the monopoly).

Musk is attempting a form of correction here by buying Twitter. But there's a lot that remains to be seen...

Why is it clear, many on the left would argue the opposite...

It's clear, because Big Tech money (of which Wikipedia-donations is just one example of) is directly funding & promoting Far Left issues.

Agree on that, at least?

It’s your sudden interest in that one thing that interests me. Never been mentioned before but from what you posted earlier they have been earning loads of money for ages and funding left leaning groups. If it has been going on for so long why is it only today you seem to be concerned with Wikimedia? Just seems like a new thing to jump on that you had no idea about until today

eh? what you getting at?

Here's a step-by-step:

1) i claim the Left has become dominant in the mainstream debate-sphere.

2) yous appear not to agree.

3) i back up this claim by linking Paypal/Wikimedia displaying clear Leftian biases in their funding & policies.

4) you respond by focussing on my "sudden interest in Wikipedia".

Step 4 is dead weird lol

Long thread, so trying to catch up. Seems to have gone off topic...

But, left wing social media, trying to silence opinions they don't like, has had the opposite effect to what they intended. This is wonderful stuff! They haven't silenced him... he has gone viral. The bans have had the opposite effect to what they hoped for. Millions of views because his beliefs are relevant and resonate with many.

It’s not weird. If Wikimedia has been an influence for so long why have you only brought it up today? That’s all I’m asking. If it was such a big issue in pushing left issues then surely it would have come up before. You’ve mentioned all the other things before but not that one. It’s almost like it’s not a real issue but it’s become a new one to focus on. Which you have done a lot today.

Never ceases to amaze me how thick some people are.

How many people have died through idealist, right wing austerity measures compared with casualties in the fierce fighting of the culture wars.

‘Centrists’ don’t even know what left wing is.

It is absolutely weird...what on Earth are you getting at?

I was challenged on a point today, hence i brought it up today.

Austerity wasn't a rightwing measure. Labour would've done the same. Source: Ed Miliband.

compared with casualties in the fierce fighting of the culture wars.
A few dozen dead from BLM riots for starters.

‘Centrists’ don’t even know what left wing is.
Socially left-wing and economically left-wing are two branches of the same tree, you're conflating them as if they're the same branch.

you started it, Neil. You wrote: "I would suggest these issues are becoming centrist and generally accepted."

I asked what issues?

I'll answer then:

- promoting a shift away from Eurocentricity, which it defines as "white male patriarchal supremacy".
- Defining 'racial equity' as acknowledging that white people have the monopoly on unfair affirmative action.
- reduce police presence during 'protests'.
- generally defunding police.
- use and promotion of language like "non-binary".
- promotion of bias in science (if justified by ideological reasons).
- abolishing jails & immigrant centres.
- promotion of 'diversity'.

These are all Far Left issues, and are being promoted and pushed by The Establishment. When publications criticise promotion of such ideas (like Toby Young's Daily Sceptic) Paypal banned them from their platform.

In the digital age, the gatekeepers of the world-wide-web are The Establishment. They are Google, Amazon, Paypal, Wikimedia etc. They influence global policy, they influence even individual thinking.

And they veer quite leftwards.
Sorry but the establishment is not the son of BBC Radio producer and Life Peer, Toby Young?

But it is a nebulous Google, Amazon, PayPal?
