He did that at the debate with Tim Kaine in 2016 - when Kaine would detail something about the policies of Trump/Pence Pence would just put on his “more than sorrow han in anger“ face, shake his head and tell a lie that should have made his nose grow a foot.

Harris will find it difficult to stop criticizing Trump and start criticizing Pence, which is an index of how noisome Trump is because Pence, whose political career would be long dead if Trump hadn't required him to deliver Evangelicals to him. is no one's idea of a prize (except perhaps among Evangelicals).

Pence will speak in calm, measured tones as if he were a normal VP rather than a man whose public career had been resuscitated to vice-preside over an unprecedented dumpster fire of an administration, but as the minutes pass he'll become increasingly flustered by sharing the stage with a beautiful woman who's not his wife.

Just thinking about the polls.
It's worth remembering that the 2020 election is way different to '16
over 4m have already voted, the amount of early votes is going to be huge this time round.
This decreases the likelyhood of a James Comey type situation swinging undecided voters.
Also I'd imagine there are far less undecided voters and there'll be far more voters overall.
All this points to the polls being more accurate than '16.
