Also, I don’t think it’s fair to lump all non-college white people who voted for Trump in a racists or idiots. Hillary was a known, massively unpopular, quantity to a lot of people. Trump as a politician was a complete unknown. I think a lot of people kind took a gamble on him on the grounds of “It doesn’t really make that much of difference who the president is, how bad can he really be?” never expecting he would be this terrible.
Of course, when we went to the polls four years ago, nobody could have possibly imagined that a vote for Trump was a vote to allow this man to attempt to steer the country (and in some ways, the world) through the worst health crisis in a century...
