It really is astounding to me that ANYONE from Puerto Rico voted for Trump. He basically said they don't matter at all and gave them no aid after a major major storm. How the hell can ANYONE vote for that??

Not only his lifestyle but his very persona. Far from someone you associate with God, but they ignore all of that.

All they care about is that Democrats are pro choice for women; therefore, Democrats are evil.

Pastors are also very corrupt and campaign for Republican candidates pretty hard. I feel that churches that endorse or get involved in politics should be stripped of their tax exempt status.

You can't claim separation of state and church and not pay taxes and at the same time actively influence church goes to vote for certain candidates.

I suppose issues like abortion are a redline for some voters and whilst Trump himself is not too arsed about it, it's an easy issue for him to claim.

Still, does that outweigh Trumps actual personal behaviour? It's all nonsense. Biden is actually a devout Christian who attends church.

It's not quite that easy - after all, Obama won there twice.

I suspect his rapprochement with Cuba has hurt them, though it was absolutely the right thing to do and worth the political hit.

In 2020 the real problem was most likely that the Biden campaign did absolutely nothing to compete in Florida, and as usual, abandoned local organisers and get-out-the-vote initiatives until it was far too late. From the New Yorker article: "In Amandi’s view, the state Party committed “the cardinal sin of electoral politics in Florida with Hispanic voters,” allowing Trump supporters to define it as “the party of socialism and Communism." ”As absurd as it is for Republicans to call Democrats Communists, it’s more absurd for Democrats not to directly rebut that labelling, confront it or refute it, and overcome it.”

Fairly strong evidence that Sanders (or Warren) would have been beaten nationwide.
