She is. She has no future beyond being tied to Trump. They're all in at this point.

Same with Pence etc.

They don't actually believe what's coming out their mouths. The point is to make the wider base believe that they believe it.

Same with any and all GOP politicians staying silent on all this. They just want to see how it plays out - they're so terrified of Trump (or, specifically, Trump's support) that they won't lay their cards on the table, no matter how obvious just being a decent human being and defending your countries actual democracy should take precedence.

There'll be a lot of normal people out there horrified at the Republicans. I didn't expect this; I thought they'd come out and condemn Trump, but they've shown themselves to be completely disgraceful sub-human scum here.
This has been somewhat surprising to me as well. There doesn’t seem to be any political cost in distancing themselves from his far-right base. I mean, what are the MAGA true believers going to do, vote Democrat next time? Same thing for the more moderate Democrats and the AOC/Bernie fringes of their party. In the US, the choice is binary, so the people on the margins will likely eventually come home, even if they aren’t thrilled about it.

This is just Trump setting up again to run in 2024. I think its quite clear the base is there for him to win the nomination again. If he can create a sense of being robbed or whatever then he'll see that as a good narrative to help him get reelected.
the joy.. he gets beat by biden.. and then beat by a woman in harris lmao :P

This explains it. They cant afford to alienate Trump just yet

At the end of the day, as much as I'm glad Biden won (because I don't think the world can take 4 more years of Trump) I do fear this is being seen as a much bigger achievement than it actually is. People are talking like Trump lost in a landslide and America's averted a disaster, but the fact is there are still 70 million people who voted for him, and they're really, really angry right now.

I'm pretty far-left but there definitely needs to be some work done across party lines for America to heal and move forward as a nation. I think, currently, that the Democrats aren't trying to make that happen, but I hope I'm wrong.

Plus, if the Republicans do keep control of the senate in January, it's going to be really hard for Biden to roll back anything Trump did without cross-party support. And as we've seen, Mitch McConnell is going to obstruct as much as possible.

It's a very precarious situation, to be honest.

Wasn't Kayleigh McEneny critical of Trump prior to his win in 2016? I'm sure that I'd read previously. Maybe she is like many others, milking the opportunity for the money on offer.
Yep

Same with Conway

Maybe this is the path to get rid of the electoral college.

Still a bit of a quagmire. I've written my state rep a few times regarding it as Virginia isn't part of this but has a bill pending for years now. States Rights puts it as an "ok" but the govt would have to probably do something basically saying "if the states want to do it we are OK with it" because it comes up as a sort of agreement between states and those can only be ratified by Congress or something of that ilk.

Again, all for naught if GA doesn't get both Senators over the line.

nobody here is talking like trump won in a landslide. Most are shocked at the level of support he received but, for now, we’re forgetting about our divided nation for a few minutes and celebrating.
