That has to be good for Biden.

This is broadly positive for Biden. Trump needs this closer to +4 or so. Not every GOP registered voter will vote Trump, certainly not every indie will vote Trump and so on.

The numbers above are turnout today by voter registration - not votes cast.

Well, you're seeing the economy rated as first as being good for Trump; that assumes that Biden is seen as not trusted on the economy.

What does that mean?

Lots of voters applied for mail ballots this year. They were of all political persuasions but probably skewed Dem as Trump dissed mail voting and Dems are generally more concerned about Covid.

The post office has had “efficiency improvements” that have significantly delayed processing of mail in general and also of those ballots both in delivery and return to election offices. Sufficiently so that legal action was taken and assurances given that delays would be fixed.

Many states have deadlines for mail ballots that are on receipt, not postmarked, so there could be lots of legal votes that have failed to arrive to be counted due to mail delays.

I voted, 2:28 stood in line, most of it in the sun (it was intense, although not a hot day). Glad I brought a cap.
