I'm not a Trump voter by any stretch of the imagination, but hearing Biden give a speech (I use that loosely) to the press on CNN doesn't fill me with optimism.
I know you said you used the term loosely but no one would call that a speech. He was answering reporters questions patiently and with some local background and colour. The guy is out on his feet. What do you want from a 77 year old who has been getting c4 hours sleep a night for the past few weeks? Tap dancing?

Why?

Genuinely interested
He seemed at times incoherent and frequently 'bumbled' from one point to another without really taking hold of the conversation or getting his point across.

Understandably, it's a stressful time and he's probably exhausted from a heavy campaign trail, which you've got to give him credit for considering his age.

Yet, he didn't come across well - statesman like. It's only a snippet of course and I expect you've got a much more comprehensive knowledge of him than I do.

No, of course not. And like I've said above before I saw your reply, you have to give him credit for being out there and taking the local avenue etc.

Nevertheless, I personally don't feel that he really handled the questions well, and I would have expected him, at this point, to get his message across.*

If I was American, I'd vote for Biden every single day, but my impression of him from this and other examples isn't great.

*By speech, I meant communicating his message.

He has been getting his message across since January. I think he was winding down. He was giving an example of the grip he has on his local issues in his home state, that’s what a good politician does. Sure he mumbled and stumbled a bit. Who knew?

I think this first set of exit polls are going to indicate that Biden is firmly on his way to the White House.

15 minutes....
