One thing (I hope) that hasn’t worked so much for Trump this time, is his attacks on his opponent, he tried to make a scandal of Bidens son and Ukraine, and it just didn’t stick at all.

Because unlike Hillary, those stories were transparently BS.

Clinton, however... let's face it, there was more than just a bit of substance about the allegations.

Sorry I've not responded to folks asking questions. Not allowed much time out of the polls, by rule.

Anyhow, can report as of poll opening this AM the Biden campaign believes the GOP has canibalized a chunk of their ED vote in TX and only lead by 1%.

The state comes down to turnout in the biggest counties that swing left - Travis, Harris, Dallas, Bexar, Hidalgo, El Paso, etc. If total vote in the state exceeds 12.5 or 13 million, they think they win.

Thanks to you and your wife and all the other folks in Texas who have been working so hard mate x

Can someone explain how so many voters are registered to a party in the states? And is there much switching from these voters?

I don't anyone who is a member of a political party!
One significant difference between the UK and the US is primaries, where the candidate is elected. As with most things in US elections how those are run varies - in some places you have closed primaries where only those who are registered with a party can vote.

There can be a decent chunk of vote switching depending on the year/candidate - for instance in 2016 there was quite a big shift in blue collar union voters historically registered dems to voting Trump and likewise suburban college educated Republican registered women who switched to Clinton.

Younger votes have generally been registering as “no party” which has been made easier by there being fewer closed primaries.

Hoping that proves to be the case when the results do come in. Either way, it’s been great reading your posts and what you’ve done in Texas and getting people to vote and believing that the state is in play for the Democrats and I want to thank you for providing us these updates during the campaign.

Looks subdued Trump - interviewed right now. Says AZ and FLO and TX they're doing 'great in', but he looks downbeat.
He's probably knackered. Hasn't stopped in days with very, very little sleep. At 74, whether you like him or not, it's incredible that he's been able to lead so many rallies and talk for hours on end. Huge energy.
