He's wrong to say voting for a blatant racist isn't a sign of disgruntlement over a black man having power? I'm not sure where you live but I've been around areas where what he said was inescapably true.

yes - the contest was a Clinton vs a Republican, saying it’s a reaction to Obama does tend to ignore the rather massive body of work over decades that the right had put in to demonising her

TBF one does wonder whether a hypothetical appropriately qualified black candidate in 2016 would actually have lost that election, making Jones point a bit moot

I don't think it is out of line to point out that voting for a blatant racist might have had something to do with the racial views of those voters. Whether it ties to Obama or not, the topic needed to and to some extent still needs to be fully discussed. But there is so much crap with Trump that some things get ignored.

TBF would anyone be surprised if those dead voters having already cast a ballot is proof that Trump will use to “prove” it’s rigged.
I would not be surprised. Just as it won't surprise me if after saying over and over that votes need to be stop counted on election day, once he looses he reverts and wants every single vote counted after election night. If there is one thing that is consistent about Trump is that he is a fickle.

There are lines even in South Carolina. A friend just send me this shot of his polling place, not sure what to make of it because SC is a red state, but regardless it is nice seeing people exercising their right to vote.

That should be the biggest plus point of the election .

People voting

Everyone who had the right to should vote , people literally died for that right. Annoys me that people choose not to, even if it's a protest vote.

that’s true, but Trump didn’t win because of those voters- he won because people who backed a black President (twice) didn’t back Hillary

Maybe it is more of a question for the primary, but these voters did vote for him in the general too and therefore were a part of him winning as had they not been ok with the racism he would have lost easily.

I think high turnout with lots of younger people voting has to be good for Dems.
I read that in SC a lot of the African American vote would happen today due to a lack of trust in the mail in option.
I have heard that about African American voters, they don't trust the system that has disenfranchised them for so long thus they felt voting in person on election day was the way to make their voices heard. I can't wait to see the final turnout numbers.

I think it's good, but one thing that is interesting is the age gap on voting is nowhere near as pronounced as over here. It's like 60/40 in terms of young people. Over here it is like 65/10 in favour Labour with the rest generally leaning left as well. So perhaps not as overwhemingly good. In general though, high turnout suits Dems overall.

On Sunday, here in Asheville, Trump supporters were going up and down one of the main roads displaying their Trump flags along with their Confederate flags screaming and intimidating people.
To be honest, I cant see that carry on do anything other than convince any remaining undecided independent or moderate republican to vote for Biden.
Still tho, horrible to see.
