I disagree, if the SNP have the chance to remove Cameron from office and elect not to that could be toxic for them.

No they don't - they will take no seats from the Tories, if they are in a position to prop up Labour, that will be because the Tories come behind Labour - nothing to do with the SNP.

You've also got to keep in mind that the next government, whether Tories, Labour or a coalition will need to make large spending cuts to the tune of at least 30 billion - the SNP are standing on an anti-austerity platform, so if they prop up a Labour government making spending cuts, how will that make them more popular?

Also, I believe Cameron is more popular in Scotland than Ed Miliband is....

Are UKIP nationalist?

They're nationalist for the UK. Most people think they're a racist party, the SNP and Plaid Cymru are too, the only difference is that while UKIP focuses on the entire UK and is right-wing, those two parties are left wing and solely dedicated to their respective countries. If anything that makes them even more racist.

This is a bit silly...

Nationalism isn't inherently racist. The SNP are pro-Scotland, not anti-England, although in seeking independence they naturally have to point out the problems the have with English control.

I disagree with the SNP and feel they don't realise how good Scotland has it in the arrangement we have - but they're not racist, nor are they a hateful party. As davek said the other day, in Sturgeon and Hammond they have two of the finest politicians in the UK right now, and they often make rational reasoning for their thoughts - even if they do ignore the massive, massive counterpoints to their overall agenda.

Nationalism is always racist. Nationalism is a feeling of pride of one's country. That's the nice part. However, it's always coupled with a feeling of superiority or hostility towards any other country and sometimes some more so than others (i.e. SNP has huge animosity towards the English). It's unavoidable. The SNP, BNP and Plaid Cymru are all racist and a scourge on the modern world of British politics.

I can't see Cameron offering another indy ref in the next parliament on top of the proposed EU ref. Therefore a deal with the SNP is still very very tricky for the tories. Far greater chance of one with Labour.

Mr Murdoch planting the seeds of doubt tonight, quite clever when you think about it. Right wing media hope is Lab/SNP relations will sour, no doubt they'll continue on with similar stories over the course of the campaign. Still over a month out from election day, this will get brutal.

No offence mate, but this is absolute drivel. So, your rationale is that because UKIP are nationalist for the whole of the UK and right wing, they're less racist than the SNP who are nationalist for a country and left wing? What logic are you applying here? I mean, are you serious or is this a late April fools joke? I've read some nonsense in this thread, but this is probably my pick of the lot.

That is complete twaddle and I suspect you know that.

Two utterly certain things in a sea of doubt:

The SNP won't offer any form of support to the Tories - formal or informal. Sturgeon has ruled it out. No matter what her personal beliefs maybe (and I doubt there's a Tory molecule in her body) her party wouldn't stand it for a second.

Any kind of pact between Tories and Labour will not happen. Those who know the party know that there is still the shadow of what Ramsay MacDonald did in the early thirties, quite apart from root policies being at variance.

Interesting bit in the Times yesterday showing how the share of the national vote between Labour & Tories has fallen consistently at every election since the 50s when they took over 90% of the vote between them to about 63% of the total vote in 2010 ..... and this is expected to fall further this time.
