I'm not even going to try to predict anything. As I said in an earlier post, it'll be the closest we've come in a long time to getting a nearly full strength team out* which means it'll be ok on paper, but needing a bit of time to gel. For anyone who gives a sh*t, my best guess is

Pickford

Manquillo Kone Djilibodji Van Aanholt

Kirchoff Rodwell

Watmore Januzaj Khazri

Defoe

That assumes that N'Dong isn't going straight into the side.

Still, Borini, Cattermole, Mannone and Larsson out.

i must say, you teams is looking alot more settled, hope you have a great season. i think you will see a more stable performance over 38 games.

BUT hoping it doesnt start tonight though.

i'll help balance this out a little as I unfortunately see a 1-1 unwatchable game where we finally go up in the 75th minute after playing in their half all game, only for Defoe to hit a worldlie to equalise in the 88th

Defoe goals are more like the ones that bobbles in off a knee from 3 and a half yards out. ;)

I feel quite good about this one, Moyes will play 8 at the back so won't be a great game but once we get one and they start opening up, we'll get another 0-2.

"Indeed, it’s actually Sunderland who boast the better record in terms of recent encounters, winning three and drawing two of their last six meetings with the Merseysiders."

Tonight isn't a given by any means, if we perform like we have been doing though, and start being clinical, we should win.

it's probably a given that almost no Sunderland players were away during the international break, so Moyes has had 2 weeks to drill them for this match. We all know this is a bit personal for him, they are going to be hard to break down. Im going for a draw.

Isn't he your record signing? Be surprised if he doesn't slot straight in. Decent team that, and shouldn't be getting relegated by any stretch.

He is, but a fortnight ago I had never heard of him. He was also suspended in France for two games before his move so no idea if he's match fit. He got sent off in pre-season (I think) for kicking someone's ear off, so him and Cattermole could be an interesting combo.
