In an ideal world (because I don't want
Moyes managing Everton in his mid-60s), the club would already have negotiated a payoff for this summer with him and he working on a long-term appointment several decades younger than Mr.
Moyes.
As a result, it would be awful if he was 'signing off' or even giving input into potential transfers this summer.
That having been said, I can't see any world where he departs this summer, so he'll effectively be in charge of who ultimately comes and goes from the club.
Let's hope the owners are willing to put in significant money and are not quite literally banking on
Branthwaite going as a starting point for incoming deals.
