Summer transfer window.

Let’s not speculate what you need to google to find an article about a teenage boy from a publication called “hard tackle”, we’re better than that.
I wish we were better then that..
Gladly my google search bar is clean from these actions.

I see there names on here and within minutes I know their life stories, what they had for breakfast, and the brand of toothpaste they use..

One day I will create an online profile with some random tag, like 'Scouting cubs and beavers with Johnny on the ball' the youth of today is the future of tomorrow..

And just sit back and watch it play out on here..

You never know, they might give me my own thread after a few months..

Don't know, probably not, but the circumstances would be different wouldn't they.

This year he's featured in Champions League games for a start, has been training with some world class players at elite facilities and, until December, was being coached by (in my opinion) an elite manager.

Equally, he's been in and out of an unstable team at a bit of a circus, not been given a solid run of games. If we'd signed him last summer he'd start every game he's fit, and would probably have bagged way more goals.

So I don't think the hypothetical scenario of him being bought and sold by Everton this season is comparable.
I respect you opinion as usual

But cant say i'm impressed with him at all. Plus injuries are becoming a concern with him . Certainly not for £ 30 mil .

There’ll be money going out the door regardless on Rohl, and presumably George if all parties agree to the deal. Then there’s the Grealish situation so we could still have to put up a decent amount just to stand still.

That’s before we consider if any of Gueye Coleman Keane leave.

We really need to be maximising the output from George Dibling Rohl Alcaraz next season as we might not be able to bring in a load of bodies. There’s 4 players there we’ve not really seen the best of. Even more if Aznou is ever going to be considered.

Yeah fair enough.

I think there's probably a good 15 goal a season premier league striker in there, just depends whether that player can be extracted from the circus he's decided to join and whether Everton are the right fit. A player's form is a funny thing, so many variables, especially a striker. A lot of a hypothetical Delap transfer, for me, would depend on the background checks, attitude and exact nature of the injuries, none of which we are privvy to.

I wouldn't be against it, but I'm not hugely for it either. I quite like that Fleming at Burnley if I'm totally honest. When I've seen him play he looks really tidy and he'd be a snip. Then again he's in his late 20s so maybe for that age we'd want someone a bit more established

I've got the same view as I had in Jan, actually now even more so.

The key to the summers business will be in the outgoings.

Sensible effective sales and strategic loans.

If we had attacking full backs and KDH deeper with an actual 10 used, whoever the CF is should have a lot more chances.

Beto & Barry at 7 & 6 goals this season may see double those returns with a more fluid planned attacking set of moves.

….you really must stop thinking you play real football on your computer game, Zat.

Have a feeling teams would have been very aware of Delap long before Ipswich or Chelsea.

If the club go for Delap it will based on years of data kept he was very prominent at underage - what he has or hasnt done in the PL at respective clubs will just be the finishing school piece.

I actually don’t mind a player who’s been burned at a CL club quite quickly. They don’t see the club as some sort of stepping stone and tend to be grateful to play regularly and re-find their form. It’s similar to KDH and Grealish, we’re not sat here worrying they’re going to leave us for City or United at the first sniff. Even Garner knows what it’s like to sit on a bench at United and he’s now in the England team for us. It worked with Pienaar and Arteta previously as well.

Not saying Delap is the answer upfront but the strategy of looking for a good player who maybe hasn’t made it into the team at a CL club for any various reason isn’t a bad one. Lukaku is another really good example.

Great points mate, KDH is a great example of the swallowed up at a CL profile - not even his biggest fans I think would have predicted his influence and impact.

Also not saying he’s the answer or haven’t seen credible links rwally, but I wouldn’t minimise him as a player based solely on his Chelsea career.

We seem to be keeping a wide eye there for value, KDH, George …… Broja.

….13 in 62, Chelsea and Man City being in the PL, 12 in 68 playing on loan in lower leagues. Similar strike rate to Barry and Beto in that respect.
I'm judging him on his season in the Premier League which was only 2 seasons ago. Like another poster said its pointless judging him at the PSR Cheats as they are a collective farm of a club and a basket case environment so not a good place for him to show his worth. His career before that isn't worth judging as he was a young player and out on loan a lot. Ultimately Moyes rates him so if you think Moyes should be in charge next season then you should back his judgement on Delap as there's a good chance we'll be in for him in the summer

That's a fair assessment but I do still hope we go in another direction if a striker is deemed as a position of need.

Someone like Goto, currently playing in Belgium, could be a good option. Similar age to Delap and I think the better player overall. Or perhaps even someone like Franculino who has over 20 goals in a decent Danish league, only 21 years old.

….not forgetting, I wasn’t keen on us getting KDH from Chelsea and he’s turned out alright 😄
