Summer transfer window.

I think the need to directly replace Gueye is going to become the biggest myth/talking point of this window.

Without him we looked arguably better in midfield. He wins the ball a lot, in part because he gives it away a lot. The energy of KDH, Armstrong and Garner (and Tim and Charly in reserve) are more than enough replacement for what we’ll miss when Gana goes, and they’re all roughly 25,000x better on the ball.
Id only be wary of this system as not replacing players has been the Everton way for a very long time now and it's never worked.

It leads to Michael Keane upfront and obrien at right back. Square pegs round holes etc

Were Moyes does do my nut in is when he says "He is not premier league ready"

So while we were talking with Raheem Sterling Bournemouth snapped up a young 19 year old winger who has never played in the prem before, who was the best player on the pitch, and has only played 2 1/2 games in the prem
And the 2 19yr olds we’ve signed have played in the prem.

unless we spend big money on a new midfielder who is like a bruno guimares level signing for us, i think gueye can be replaced from within the side.

garner already is completing the most amount of tackles and interceptions in the league to begin with, and iroegbunam is also a brilliant ball winner and carrier

we can see rohl and armstrong also have the tools to be ball winners and cover ground

i think central midfield, along with goalkeeper, is the last position we need to spend any money on

the funds should be going towards

a starting left back
a starting right back
a starting striker
a starting left winger (or right winger if grealish not pursued and ndiaye moves to left)
a back up versatile winger
a back up right back
a back up left back (if mykolenko released and aznou sold/loaned out

to then sign a top class centre mid on top of that doesnt seem feasible
The club want a defensive midfielder by all accounts. Garner, KDH, Armstrong and Rhol. Who we’ve committed to buying. So with that 4 and a new one, 5 should be enough unless we get Europe. I’d sell Alcaraz and Tim, if we get a good offer.

I agree that 2 full backs should be the first 2 signings. Ans then it’s deciding on Grealish and George. Do we get another forward who can play upfront and wide,
With options of the wide players able to play in the 10 role. A lot will come down to who the mananger is, I think the midfielders we have suit a flat 3
Or a 1 holding and 2 infront like
We did at Villa. The problem with a 10
Under Moyes, is the wide players have to do so much work and the striker is isolated and the number 10(KDH, Rhol, Armstrong, Tim) have all
Had a go in the 10 and it just isn’t natural to them and hinders us massively

Strikers DM struggles to do this -

I'm guessing so but Senesi ain't coming here to sit on the bench so does that mean we are going 4 CB next season? Personally I hope not. I just don't see it as a Branthwaite replacement a) because he is a fair bit older, and b) I don't see there being a massive scramble for Jsrrad off the back of such a big injury and half a season, they will only be half baked offers if there are any.

Super sexy samba soccer.

Nuts to reality!

Mane - currently at Wolves. LB.
Munoz - currently at Palace. RB.
Anderson - currently at forest. MF.
Delap - currently at chelsea. ST.

Get what we can for McNeil, Tim Iroegbunam, Barry, Beto, Myko.
Nice! Hard to argue with most of that.

I wouldn’t be in a rush to get rid of Tim, I think he’s improving and has all the attributes to be part of the squad for next season.

Anderson has had a miserable time at forest and looks to be in high demand… Hayden Hackney at Middlesbrough looks a good player.

If we hadn’t committed to signing Rhol I’d keep Tim, but with KDH, Garner, Rhol, Armstrong. Gana ??? And the club wanting a number 6 apparently, I’d sell Tim, we could make decent money which would help us buy better.

This is what we need to do, we can sell, Patterson, Myko, Tim, McNeil, Alcaraz and Beto and raise between 70mil and 90mil. All of them are squad players apart from Myko and he’s arguably our worst player so no big miss, I’d rather do that than keep squad players and be forced to sell Branthwaite or Ndiaye
