I want a centre back rather then a no 10 to be honest. We were woefull at the back for large chunks of last season, due to injury fatiuqe and loss of form.

I would also want a playmaker rather than a no 10 BTW also.

I have no doubts we'll sign a centre back. In fact, I wouldn't even be that shocked if we brought in two!

If he did, let him rot with the u21 team. I don't think he would. Personally I'd offer him a new contract. If he wants one or not is a different matter.

I can understand keeping him against his will in January since we a) couldn't get a replacement and b) had europa so any replacement needed to not be cup tied.

However to keep him now with 1 year left?

Come on. Let him and it go. He's been good for us but is certainly not irreplaceable. Lets just focus on getting the right price or replacement.
