They have had months to enquire for these lads and negotiate. Same goes for other supposed targets as well.

It was only July…

We had to wait for Chelsea and Southampton to get in replacements…

There was a lot of moving parts so realistically it couldn’t be any sooner

Anything else I have missed?

This is absolute nonsense. No club in the world pays 40mil upfront.

Edit: Unless what he means is they want 40 before add-ons, which makes sense.

It is want 40 fixed price not in the add ons is what that benj lad said. Is fair tbh can understand why they want it could help them keep another player fernandes for another season. Think he gets done imo

From where we were 12 months ago and having to shop with Klarna, nobody can say the new owners haven’t backed the manager if these two deals get completed. Around 130m outlay can’t be criticised really for their first Summer window.

But surely you make enquires anyway, price range, player availability etc then go from there and who to move for. That shouldn’t take months to achieve.
