Fofana has never been about the fee. He doesn’t want to come.

Kubo it sounds like they only want his release clause and that would be 50m plus all paid up front. Massive cash commitment.

Why haven’t we made moves for these two players earlier?

They have had months to enquire for these lads and negotiate. Same goes for other supposed targets as well.

Sociedad want around £50-55m for Kubo I believe. Great player, but again that's a hefty chunk of money for where we're currently at..

Actually similar to us signing Ndiaye this one, player having a great championship season moving to a big club and then a season later coming here.

Dewsbury-Hall, not his biggest fan. Saw him for Chelsea last year and he looked poor, but maybe needed some game rhythm that he wasn’t getting there?
Will take Alcaraz spot imo but offer more in defence. Could also play on the right side if needed, not ideal but better than current options.

I think they tend to give permission to talk if they aren’t too far apart in valuation. Hopefully means it’s close to being done but it’s their prerogative to turn down bids.

It's not something that you like to see but we could do with the player and or his agent kicking off here so put pressure on Soton. If we're the sole suitors (Sounds dead shakespearean that doesn't it ha ha) he'll deffo be interested.

Personally I'd just near enough pay it now. The likes of the RS, City and Chelsea have totally overinflated the market buying similar potential.
