Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

No Beto isn’t good enough full stop. And we will see it next season. I’d sell him, though I doubt that happens, but we can’t have him as our main number 9 next season, we need a much better all round striker
He can header he can hold the ball up he’s quick can get behind defences and can score and he will run through a wall for you with a great attitude 1 in 2 this season I mean what more do people honestly want. Add other player in that will create more and score more if Beto can get 12-15 in a full season and other chip in well that’s got to be better than this season. And by the way I’m not a massive Beto fan love his attitude but always said he looks awkward and not the best but you can’t deny he’s doing what’s asked of him and right now it’s working if someone offered what we paid I’d probably take it but while he’s here go with him.

Stopped reading after the first 2 lines, 😂

Moyes has had similar strikers in the past. The likes of Marcus Bent (finished 4th) and Jermaine Beckford (finished 7th). Not the most technically gifted strikers but quick and will cause problems.

I can see Beto being here and being used for now because its going to be very difficult for Moyes to get the whole team he needs in within one window and Moyes knows how to use Beto in a way to be effective.

So Moyes said more news on Monday about the future of some players I count 9 😀 Keane, Coleman, Gueye, Lindstrom, Broja, DCL, Mangala, Harrison, Alcarez

I actually think Beto and Alcaraz futures could be interlinked mate, Charlys main strength is transitioning and passing through the lines and breaking them, to get the best out of him you want a striker who can play off the shoulder.

If you are banging it over his head or banging crosses into the box, you wont get the best out of Charley in my opinion and the game will gobble him up.

It depends what philosophy Davey wants to implement.

Moyes talking about Delap is certainly a weird one isn’t it? Why would he do that?
Is it because:
Moyes is more comfortable to talk us/things up nowadays?
Is it the age old ‘well we tried’?
Is it a message to DCL? We’re talking to others so you better decide quick..
Or something else? Seems out of character for the Moyes I used to know.. has his approach changed?
I think it's because the selling club know he is leaving and release fee so no negotiations

Moving into his last year so the £20-30m is a bit far fetched.

Compare him to Tom Fellows who is available around £10-15m

Doak looks much more dangerous and likely to be able to transfer his level of performances to the premier league.

Doak looks ideal for the right side. He’s a lot quicker than Fellows and looks completely 2 footed. In the clips he’s often looking to go outside and look for pull backs but once he starts cutting in and shooting more he could be like a mini Salah/Saka/Mbuemo and we’re crying out for one of those.

Not convinced how good Delap is btw but....a lot of complaints from ourselves that the club doesn't keep us informed enough over the years, Moyes says we've spoken to Delap, " behind the black ball" probably means it's unlikely, and so we ridicule the statement with " club will say at least we tried ".
Damned if they do, dawned if they don't

I think you can tell a lot about character in these kind of decisions. Does Delap have the genuine belief,in himself, and desire to take on a “project” like Everton and really become a legend. But then possibly have to deal with the risk that it may not work out.Or does he sit on a bench somewhere, for one of the 6, but then have all the media telling everyone how good he is without necessarily needing to prove anything. I refuse to believe Mason Mount would have one single England cap if he hadn’t played for Chelsea and Man Utd.

I think young players at the top level have the belief that they’re the best and can play at the biggest clubs/champions league etc. if that happened then international recognition follows.

Moves to Chelsea/newcastle and has a crack at champions league on probably higher wages that we’d offer. If he doesn’t get chances / it doesn’t work out then he moves to a club like Everton.
Moves to Utd he’s in the spotlight at one of the world’s biggest clubs. it doesn’t work out then he moves to a club like Everton.

Moves to Everton. If it works out playing for the best fans and at the best stadium etc then he can look to move to a champions league club (which he already can).
If it doesn’t then he doesn’t get to move to a higher standard/champions league etc.

Lots of players use clubs as stepping stones whereas he arguably doesn’t need to. Don’t get me wrong it would be (imo) the best move for him to develop himself, but as I said at the start, a lot of players will think they’re already the best and will be able to prove themselves.
