Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

So we sell a future England captain who is a Left footed CB to our rivals worth who is worth 70/80 million as part of a deal to buy a 20 million rated Winger…haha!

If we do that deal may as well sell Ndiaye for some magic beans!!
You DO realise this is an Everton forum don’t you?
If we got a £70M/80M offer for Branthwaite, he’d be out of the door, especially if we got a squad player from a top6 in return.

This is the way.

Possibly, but from everything I've seen Liverpool would be silly to sell him. He looks a huge prospect. £30m is on the high side, but not absolutely ridiculous given his ceiling and the price that other prospects have gone for - Brentford signed Carvalho from them for a similar fee I think
Don't do any dealings with Liverpool ffs. If we want that Doak they'll massively overprice him as they do with all of their young players, and no doubt they'd negotiate a first option on Branthwaite or something. If Doak is available it'd probably be for about £30m, and I'm absolutely certain we could sign a more proven player from abroad for that amount.
£30 mill is a lot of money, but it also depends on profile.

If you pay close to £30 million for Yannick Bolasie at 27, its very expensive.

If you pay £30 mill for a 19 year old and keep him for 8 -10 years, then its approx 3 mill a season.

Same thing applies to Delap.

You pay for the longevity.

Take Pickford we paid a lot of money for him at the time for his potential - was it worth it and was it value - absolutely.

If im honest im a big believer in dropping £30 mill or whatever on players, buy quality and walk away for 8-10 years - Pickford the example

@davek when we sign Doak

Doak looks like a tough little pocket rocket.

Ideal for the right side though have to love Moyes comments

"We want robust players"

= signs someone injured for 4months.
Moving into his last year so the £20-30m is a bit far fetched.

Compare him to Tom Fellows who is available around £10-15m

I think you can tell a lot about character in these kind of decisions. Does Delap have the genuine belief,in himself, and desire to take on a “project” like Everton and really become a legend. But then possibly have to deal with the risk that it may not work out.Or does he sit on a bench somewhere, for one of the 6, but then have all the media telling everyone how good he is without necessarily needing to prove anything. I refuse to believe Mason Mount would have one single England cap if he hadn’t played for Chelsea and Man Utd.

Moyes talking about Delap is certainly a weird one isn’t it? Why would he do that?
Is it because:
Moyes is more comfortable to talk us/things up nowadays?
Is it the age old ‘well we tried’?
Is it a message to DCL? We’re talking to others so you better decide quick..
Or something else? Seems out of character for the Moyes I used to know.. has his approach changed?

All round striker.. nah. Give me a striker who puts the ball in the net full stop. As McCoist said the other night, playing against a striker with his back to goal is absolute piece of cake.. a striker who turns you and plays off the shoulder is a nightmare to defend and transforms a whole team..
That’s fine if he’s getting 25/30 goals
I’f your only skill is scoring and you get about 12, then that’s not good enough, if you want success
