Compiling an expirings list that could make sense to target considering our financial constraints. Evaluation from transfermarkt, wages from capology.
The first phone calls. Obvious plus additions.
CJ Egan-Riley, 22, CB England/Ireland, Burnley, 14 million, weekly wages 6,000
The City youth prospect has stood out for Burnley this campaign. Rare chances at coveted prospects to enter the expiring market would likely be the smart #1 priority on the free agent market.
Josh Brownhill, 29 CM, England Burnley, 13 million, weekly wages 45,000
The Burnley captain has been stellar with 14 goals to his name this season. Goals assists and with his next contract seeing out his prime it would be a positive addition.
Javi Puado 26 LW Spain, Espanyol, 8 million, weekly wages 7,308
11 goals, 3 assist, on pace with totals comparable to the last 3 seasons. Still pre prime. At worst a likely plus squad player.
Cam Burgess, 29 CB Australia, Ipswich 2.5 million, weekly wages 8,000
Following Ipswich fans and most say Burgess outplayed big summer signing Jacob Greaves all season. EPL experience now, and a cheap veteran add early in his prime.
Frank Anguissa, 29 CM, Cameroon, Napoli, 27 million, weekly wages 73,846
Jack of all trades and seminal to Napoli's recent success. 6 goals 5 assists with great link up and defensive support. Next contract to see out his prime. On already good wages but could reach 100k and likely be plus value.
Ola Aina, 28, RB, Nigeria/England, Forest, 20 million, weekly wages 40,000
Fits an immediate hole at RB at decent starter level. Just entering his prime likely next contract will see out his best years.
Less obvious names but interesting
Roony Bardghji, 19, RW, Sweden, Copenhagen, 9 million weekly wages 12,000
High upside prospect attracting EPL interest
Thomas Partey, 31, CM, Cameroon, Arsenal, 15 million, weekly wages 200,000
Been excellent this season but possibly not extended by Arsenal. On big wages but maybe takes a marginal price cut considering age.
