Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Surely there's no work permit to be had there??

Not needed now with us being Brexited.

If we're going to be using inverted wingers as we did on Saturday then we've got to recruit 2 fullbacks who can defend and deliver quality into the box.

And a ball winning midfielder might not go amiss as well. The wide open midfield on display on Saturday is going to get old, real fast.

….a really good striker acquisition would hopefully turn draws into wins but creativity is a huge issue. We played our ‘footballers’ on Saturday and hardly created a chance (worst XG stats if any team playing Ipswich this season).

Creativity is also dependent on much better FBs than we’ve had to put up with for many seasons.
100% agree not even just fb but actually quality on the wings aswell should be having two wingers coming in , even creativity in the midfield because dont have a player picking the ball from deep starting the attack. Could go on for more about players we need, i do think moyes will want us going on the counter being able to break fast. So could definately see him looking to improve us out wide ( fullback+wingers) aswell as a striker as a priority first. But is really important that we use the loan market and make sure is players who can come in make an impact to this squad.

Eh? If he's Greek, he wouldn't have required a work permit at all before Brexit. Plus, every country, whether EU or not, have their own WP rules. Hence why it was always easier for South Americans or Africans to get them in Portugal, Spain and Italy.

We still have some points score process. The 'positive spin' of the Brexitshambles as regards football was meant to be that our government would be more lenient with non EU players. For a player like him, who only has 4 national caps, doesn't play in a top league and would command a low transfer fee and is from an EU country, surely it would be harder to get 🤷

Rather than Delap, who everyone is looking at, what about getting in ahead on the other Ipswich striker, Hirst?

Certainly there's a family pedigree, same as Delap

Saw a weird stat yesterday only three teams in the whole of Europe had 3 players who hit double digits in goals this season, Barca, Bayern and …..Brentford!

There is a whole world of talent out there...

Matgeo Retegui - Atalanta picked him up for 20m Euros, could we get him for the same if not cheaper than Delap? 24 goals this season.

Mika Biereth - Born in London and British dual citizen. Arsenal U21 who joined Sturm Graz at the start of this season before moving to Monaco. 24 goals this season too.

Jonathan David - Still only 25, 16 goals this season and free at the end of this season.

Arnaud Kalimuendo - Joined Rennes from PSG at the start of last season 15 goals this season.

Hugo Ekitike - 6`2" front man has 15 goals for Frankfurt, only cost 16m Euros from PSG

My pick would be Emanuel Emegha, 22 years old, 6`4" striker with pace and scored 14 in 27 this season for Strasbourg. Bought for 13m Euros, how much could we pick him up for?

Massively disagree problem with this teams is goals the defence stats have been up near the top of the table while the attacking stats of goals evt near the bottom. Striker and out wide bringing in goals has to be top of the list
Solanke and Evanlison has told us a normal striker how much are today. Would you put most of the budgets to gamble the right man is coming in? Dont forget the PSR is still affecting us. If we can improve the standard of passing, our striker can score more than we think.

The Suarez comparisons because he was Uruguayan 🥀

Nearly as bad as the time when someone compared Patterson to Gareth Bale.
