Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If you happen to be a panicker this seems to be place to be and you definitely won't be alone
I thought it was common knowledge that due to the PSR scenario, it was likely we wouldn’t sign players until the new financial year?

Caveat*

Even if we did genuinely bid £30m for Liam Delap and he chose us - do we really think that deal wouldn’t have been official until July 1st? Dream on…

I agree everything you wrote was sensible but despite the whole entire psr scenario of us not being able to buy until July 1st firmly established, people on here are still dubious someone actually deemed it psr propaganda lol

Its as obvious as day,

I hoped for a free transfer or loan confirmed before July 1st but on the proviso we’re not ran by the muppets, we should see activity in two weeks.

That being said, I suppose Charley Alcaraz counts as a “signing” despite nothing will be official before FY25

I don't even think pre season has started yet so I'm not sweating it, hope to see some movement in the next couple weeks though

Same mate.

If we get a few days before the season opener and have no squad, then I’ll panic.

As I’ve got older I take transfer stuff with a pinch of salt. We can’t dictate it and we’re actually best placed to make the decisions as much as we think we are.

If I had my way, we would re-sign Richarlison and take a punt on Evan Ferguson. Those two will probably bomb.

But I’m not an Premier League football club CEO et el

It doesn't work like that. Amortization is what affects the bottom line and a 30 million contract's amortization for a month is about 400k.

It does though.

You have a valid point regarding amortization on contracts - but the brass reality is that from July 1st we enter a new financial year and a new PSR period.
