He got us some of our best players in years too like Richy, Digne, along with our current top talent Branthwaite.
Dont really agree with your Thelwell argument either. If Thelwell bought players that suited Dyche then this forum would have gone into meltdown. It's not Thelwells fault that Dyche is utterly useless at spotting talent and utilising it correctly.
The club should dictate the style and the manager should follow, it shouldn't be a case of managers with different styles revolving around as you then get into a horrible cycle of continuously having to overhaul the squad.
And how did that work out for us under Walsh, Brands and Thelwell?
If your DoF isn't aligned with your manager, your recruitment ends up all wrong, in turn you end up with poor signings, the club under performs then it doesn't matter what you want your style to be, you end up needing a fire fighter manager like Allardyce and Dyche.
Walsh overseeing 3-4 number 10 signings
Brands leaving Silva short of a centre half and centre mid and thinking "yeah I'll sigh Delph as he has a great track record of fitness"
I could go on and on and on and on and on. But I don't want to and I'll be derailing the thread. I've got no problem with people who think they done a great job in trying circumstances. Just my opinion that they fell waaaaaaaaaaay below what I would deem as acceptable.
