Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It’s nice getting linked to some of these decent looking strikers but if (in all probability we are gonna be waiting till July to pull the trigger on any of them if we are interested) It leaves the door for other clubs that can spend now to come in an whip them from under us. Most teams are looking for a good striker so if you are interested you need to pull the trigger quick and get it done.
If we want the player the deal can be done now, in amortisation terms only one month of a 4-5 year contract would fall in this financial year so the PSR impact is minimal.

And if we’re so tight that we can’t even do that we could just arrange the deal for July 1. Either way we’re not going to have to fall behind other clubs waiting for the new financial year.

We've got to start finding the Barry's for 12-15m before they make their big move and we end up paying 30-40m for them.

That's when we'll start turning big profits on players when it comes to selling them, instead of just making 10-15m on someone.

We've been so bad for years when it comes to recruitment, we've got to be so much smarter with our scouting and who we purchase and for how much.
💯...I always think about that Guirassy going to Stuttgart for 9mil.

Am of the same thinking..get them in before for they hit 30-40 mil, then if it doesn't work out it's no harm done.

Exactly this. Although... nobody thought Branthwaite would get to the levels he had so quickly, or at all, when we bought him. Likewise Calvert Lewin could have been sold for at least 20-30m profit during his pomp, we just missed the boat there.

But, we do need to be doing a couple of those deals every session in my opinion, which requires much better transfer strategy and scouting on U21 players.

Yes mate, those kind of punts at 1m/2m are great and you see other clubs purchasing players abroad for between 8-12m and the following season they're suddenly 25-35m.

We've been so fixated with "Premier League experience" that we've basically shot ourselves in the foot, and then when we have looked to sign someone abroad, we've spent a lot of money.

I'm hoping beyond hope that we see a more smarter, efficient Everton moving forward.

Just to add, I can't wait to see how we now perform without a DoF. They've been nothing short of a disaster for us and if I met any of them in the street, I don't think I'd have 1 positive thing to say to them about their time here.
I think Thelwell and Brands did both good and bad things during their tenures with us. Moshiri getting involved with matters which he had no right in doing so, hindered both of their jobs. Could it have been better? Of course, but within the parameters they worked under, they didn't do too badly. Beto, Ndiaye and JOB were all brought in by Thelwell and they were some of the best things about last season.

Brands was a complete and utter disaster, spunked millions upon millions on garbage. Thelwell yes towards the end of his tenure we can look at Beto & Jake doing well....for Moyes. He signed them whilst Dyche was in charge and Dyche didn't use them. So they almost became pointless tools. You need to sign players your manager is actually going to use. Moyes dug him out of a hole by showing that the players should have been playing so that's on Thelwell and Dyche for not being aligned together (which became glaringly more obvious through every transfer window)

Brands did get us Branthwaite and he has already said that he was not allowed to do his job through interference from Moshiri and Kenwright

Clearly we are able to spend on a £30mil player. Surely one more week gives us enough time to have moved on from Delap and be announcing a new signing?
