Paying half his salary is 150k p/w for someone NOT to play for them, even for City is eye watering.

He is BTW a massive example of just how much City have been gaming the system and how outrageous it is that Everton were deducted points and they continue to avoid it.

But the alternative is to pay the bloke 300 and not include him in the 25 man squad or euro squads. Assuming they are going to purchase more . Agreed on how much city game the system with impunity

He hardly featured at all in what could arguably be considered City's worse season in a decade.
So it's obvious that he's fallen out of favour with Pep.

Always found him frustrating to watch especially at Villa, good player but the diving antics were ridiculous at times .

It happens (as well we know) that sometimes you end up paying a player way more than they are worth. City are not immune to this.

Nicolas Tagliafico or Reinildo Mandava as a new left back.
Kyle Walker-Peters, Tariq Lamptey or Vladimir Coufal as a new right back.
Angel Gomes, Mario Pasalic or Josh Brownhill as a central midfielder.

Would be decent to sign some of them to allow us to spend more on some starting 11 quality.
