So if you could take any of City, Arsenal or Liverpool’s players you would take their fullbacks? Who do you think would improve this Everton team more, Timber or Saka? The best teams are strong everywhere including at fullback. But if you listed the key players in order of importance fullbacks would be last.

Full back is even more important when all your wide players drift inwards. The lack of overlapping runs will be apparent as the season goes on

Do full-backs properly overlap anymore? Every decent team I've seen recently just use them to hold the touchline rather than get ahead of the wide player.

He was for a good chunk of the season where we had the 4th best defensive record. Whilst our points record improved after O'Brien started playing right back, our defensive record actually got a bit worse.
