Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

This obsession with Premier League experience must stem from the risk adverse managers we employ, with this flatter structure to recruitment there seems to be no ultimate kingpin so It seems they're all fighting for what they want and decisions are so slow to be made or not made at all. Time is moving fast and we have to be decisive, I think any money we have left needs to be invested in youth with high potential who can grow with us and provide saleable assets in the future whilst the loan market can be utilised for the Premier League experience he wants. The inquest to what went wrong can happen when the window closes but right now we need players, lots of players.

I think we need a combination of both.

Well yes, but weve already blown a lot of money on Travers, KDH & Grealish.

We also need assets, so it has to be a focus on younger players.

Yep. Just listened to that myself. Grim listening.

I still maintain that, as good a manager as Moyes might be for us, he should not have been given control to build the recruitment model the way he wants it. And Moyes pushing for this PL experience nonesense needs knocking on the head. That's why the prices are so bloody high.

Also interesting how Bobble noted that the prices we are being quoted are only going up the closer we get to the window.

Only certain posters on here would expect a value drop the longer a window goes on.

Never happens.

There shouldn't be any arguments. Moyes should be asked if he wants a player, and if he does, then the others should go get them

Why would we want other members of the recruitment team - Hammond , Kinnear etc to choose players over someone who has a track record of good recruitment at this club over many years.

Sorry what?

"who has a track record of good recruitment at this club over many years".

Are you serious? Over a decade ago?

Also said on Bobble's podcast that we are struggling to find the ££ to give Brownhill a contract.

Great times.

Why would we even consider this player?

If this doesnt show Moyes is calling the shots i dont know what people are smoking.

Have they though? Maybe we have hit a wall and nothing is happening.

Forest are pissing me right off. At least they are showing ambition. Clarly there owner doesnt give a stuff about PSR.
Perhaps that is the key here. We have a transfer comittee who "Can not agree", they have a raving loony dictator in chrge who just makes decisions.

Leaks have stoped, and everyone is losing their heads and completely makking up stuff, to get themselves even more angry.

🤣 🤣

I feel like this forum is a twilight zone warping of reality. The only people making stuff up are the people who’ve been banging the “it’ll be fine we’ll get all our top targets at the end of the window” brigade. They’re also the ones now insisting that the reason nothing is happening is because the leaks have stopped and actually stuff is happening, which has quite literally been made up.

kingpin indeed...

Marinakis to me clearly has a grudge over their previous points deduction and wants to take a sledgehammer to all PL regulations. There's no way they will be compliant after all these purchases while only selling Elanga.

Obviously my goblin brain wants us to do the same thing but tbh probably better to see how it works out for them, if we deliberately breached PL would find a way to relegate us surely.
