Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It seems to have an impact i don't get it myself, the collective memory of players unless it's like a united or Chelsea they seem to focus on the most recent aspect of success even if it's a one off season. Forest are known to splurge as well, at the same time they didn't start making this slew of signings until a couple weeks ago.

Just seems they are showing more ambition, have a belligerent hands on owner that can move the dial, and an efficient DoF.

When it looked like the summer was getting away from them (Gibbs White to Spurs), they pulled it right back and changed the narrative decisively.

We have let things slide in the opposite direction.

Should’ve gone all in for Douglas Luiz imo. Lost out on a prem proven player for a loan with only a €30m buy option, we need to act faster
We were supposedly in talks with him all summer , It's possible Luiz did not want to come here as he might of preferred Europa football or other factors you can't just kidnap players and force them to sign for you otherwise the North Korean league would be a mecca for football

Totally agree but I think having DoF working in sync with the Chairman gives you far greater , speed , dexterity and decisiveness than a recruitment team.
There is no way we could have concluded 4 major transfers in 48 hours

Could be Edu is there, family preference? There's so many factors to take into consideration. Not just who tables an offer first. The total lack of understanding of anything on this thread is frustratingly comical.

I agree completely with that. They shouldve paid whatever compensation was necessary to get the other 2 through the door for this summer. Especially the City bloke who hasn't even been working but sat on gardening leave.

TFG have left me with the impression they don't have much of a plan for us and we are a relative afterthought. Under no circumstances should they have allowed Kinnear to work with Leeds an extra 2 months to collect his promotion bonus either.
Yup - they just seem so unprepared. It's like all the focus was on the books and they seemed surprised by football matters, such as Dyche's burnout when it was clear the manager was out of road by the Forest match at Christmas.

The worry for me is that once you lose the momentum provided by the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity we had this summer (new owners, new stadium, new era), it's almost impossible to get it back. We need a massive next fortnight to restore some belief in this "project". It's all very well and good increasing prices for tickets and beers, but that won't fly if we're as inept in footballing terms as we have been so far this summer. Kenwright - the wily self-serving old fox - knew that you had to keep prices low if you were going to serve up dross (mixed with palatable doses of nostalgic sentimentality). These Americans wouldn't be able to spell sentiment - but they'll not get away with their capitalist ways whilst providing lowest-common denominator football. And the novelty of the new stadium will soon wear off. Distracting the fanbase with videos of the shiny new gaff won't be an option come autumn.

May have been that he just wanted to move to Forest for Europe, that's fair enough - but we should've moved on quickly to another, and I can't see anything that suggests were close to another no.6
