Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If you have 35m to spend as an example and so many positions fill - what would you do?

Choose experience over Youth or Youth over experience?

The answer is we dont have enough money anyway so it matters not and in the end prem survival can be the only goal.

There shouldn't be any arguments. Moyes should be asked if he wants a player, and if he does, then the others should go get them

Why would we want other members of the recruitment team - Hammond , Kinnear etc to choose players over someone who has a track record of good recruitment at this club over many years.
Because Moyes wants old, expensive players. We've been down this road so many times before.

Makes perfect sense.

Moyes, 2 year contract and wants senior premier league experience.

I'm positive KDH & Grealish were pushed massively by Moyes. Also the John McGinn enquiry was due to him as well.

At this point, Kinnear as CEO needs to tell him that the profile of players is going to be u23 and that they are going to be those with massive upside.

Not those with massive downside.
You’re right, but shouldn’t these issues have been settled early in the window?

Just been some bad signs for me. The Keane (and out of contract players) situation and not getting Tete boxed off early on..hasn’t felt like a coherent plan.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see some people leaving the club once the dust has settled.

Listening to the podcast from Bobble.

Transfer Committee can not agree the way forward on targets and how to spend the money we have left. Also can not agree if they want youth or experience.

They both seem pretty positive normally but worry setting in.

The words "can not agree" keeps getting said
Not saying there are not disagreements about players, but find it a little hard to belive they would be having such fundamental overall strategy stand off at this stage of the window, also given the manger and whole recruitment team have been changed In the last 6 months I doubt these guys have info on these high level meetings, more likely the tap has been turned off for them since moyes comments and they need to make some content to justify the money they are charging people so have pulled out a nice generic reason for no info that would also mot be proven whilst also not stop us annoying a signing tomorrow.

There will be tons of work going on to get players into the club as well as chats with agents as players are staring to look for moves having waited to see if they were going to play, and that will mean they do the due diligence on players and say to the manager we can get X in for this amount do you want him, some he will say yes and some he will say no. They won't be sitting in boardroom arguing about whether to sign Jamie vardy or Tyler dibling.

We also can't be giving 39 year olds two year contracts. It was the right decision to let him go, the mistake was not having a new RB lined up to replace both him and Coleman.
The mess was compounded by letting Digne go because he wouldn't kowtow to a manager no one wanted. The same manager signed Patterson who we've seen so very little of. So much disaccord in the side, Moyes crowbarred O'Brien into the team with some success, imagine that hadn't been the case, it's all been such desperate straw clutching last ditch solution finding. Ask Christopher Walken, play russian roulette enough times and you'll eventually never do anything ever again.
