Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I mean it's talksport and a very easy rumour to make up.
Why wouldn't they? Fits their MO for young talent. They play in Europe. They'll have loads of money to spend if Eze goes and it would be an eye catching replacement. Near perfect replacement if truth be told.

He won't be coming here if Palace get involved.

Of course. Me just as much as anyone.

Again though - I'm not prepared to piss my kecks if it takes longer than most misguidedly have assumed it would've.

In the meantime, we'll get by. Either enjoy the football or don't - quite simple really!
It’s not it taking longer we could go down this year the 3 that have come up look a lot more equipped and we if anything have gone backwards we don’t have a squad we just have some good players 4/5 at most

Based on what? Just saying it doesn’t mean anything. Our squad is not fit for purpose in the Premier League, we had Tyler Onyango on the bench last night.
And two gk is still time but agree injuries or not this squad was still not ready for the first game

A new RB. An actual RB, not a makeshift RB. It boggles my mind that people seem happy to go through yet another season without a first string RB.
A right back he doesnt have cant be first choice though I'm afraid 🤔

I agree though we do need a new RB but for me RW and CM are higher priority.

It's not about being more than fine though, is it? We have fallen so far behind some mediocre teams over the last 5 years and it will be hard to catch them. Look at Forest - also had a points deduction, just stayed up and finished behind us. And then they really went for it. They didn't give a damn about spending and were decisive in their decsion making. Then this summer, they go big again, making signings that should help keep them up there for years to come. They've turbocharged their team and club.

Whereas as we are trying to gather together to be 'fine'. The issue with aiming for 'fine' is that injuries or a bad run push you back down the table and then we re-enter the next transfer window struggling to convince players again because Everton are near the bottom like they always are. No-one thinks we're going to get relegated - it’s more a case of falling behind again and continuing to circle the drain. I don’t think you grasp that with your pejorative bedwetter shouts.

I personally think that with a few signings we could push top half, but we have gone about everything the wrong way this summer and continue to be run like an amateur outfit. And we have put ourselves in a situation where it is touch and go whether or not we can secure what we need. I still think we will, but my confidence is severely ebbing away.
Yes, we have done it badly but, it’s basically the same squad that was top five under Moyes games and with the addition of grealish, dews, Barry and whoever else we add

A good team doesn’t become crap overnight - we messed up last night ironically due to injuries in positions we are less concerned about than others.

We will have a much better squad than last year you’d imagine and it was a squad that we were all praising

If your objective is nothing more than just getting by, you will never improve. And if you stand still you'll be left behind.

This summer has been totally unacceptable and a total lack of urgency and ambition. We have somehow manage to regress despite being really bad to start with - it's actually quite remarkable.

Ignoring the issues and telling everyone everything will be ok just makes no sense either. There's no evidence everything will just suddenly turn out fine.

I get this but at the same time still poor to throw away points not being ready with the squad at the start of season
It is - I just refuse to get bogged down in it knowing that it was a fairly predictable outcome based on the last few years. New owners weren't going to change that overnight, particularly with Moyes & Co in tow.
