Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Don’t know why Liverpool even bothered putting a buy back in for Bournemouth. Bournemouth would have sold him back to them for about 2 mill anyway whilst simultaneously buying their next piece of deadwood off them for 20 mill. LFC feeder club.

Tbf they have done alright from Liverpool. Ibe was a disaster but Solanke scored 70+ goals for them and they made like £40 million profit.

Pretty sh1t3 we still haven’t sorted right hand side… also think we need a proven striker tbh. is that RB Sunderland signed from PSG any good? Forest seem to have bought some good young players too.

Wasn’t there also a left back who no one had ever heard of and they paid actual money for him and then he was never seen.

I’m more annoyed at Bournemouth’s recent record v Liverpool, it’s an absolute disgrace for a top flight club especially considering the performances they put in v Arsenal City Chelsea.

He'll have us at least mid table. The issue with Moyes is always that he constructs limitations on the club's he's at but when expectations are raised, he struggles to meet them.

You imagine the aim for TFG was to allow Moyes to transition from relegation to mid table and towards Europe, but if they want to push beyond 7th/8th, they might need a new man.
Indeed. And, given his age and what he has said, I think he would be happy transforming Everton into a team that qualifies for Europe and is settled into a new stadium and is financially sound, and then stepping aside. I would expect three years maximum if everything goes well.

Not seen him play but looks like a decent CV. We make signing a functional right back look like an impossible task.

Hope we can get that done and should’ve got it done a few weeks ago so he could help out off the bench tonight. Our fans will have turned their opinions around on him by November.
Believe it or not, despite being against these kinds of transfers usually, I'm not opposed to him being a squad body given the lack of depth and the fact we have some quality added in central areas with Grealish and KDH. But, we need to move McNeil on for me.

He is far too limited for his position in a PL team. If we keep McNeil to be a 5th choice wide option fine. But we're so thin there he will play a lot. And he's absolutely useless unless shooting from distance or taking a corner. He has done okay for us in times of desperation, but if there is a more one dimensional winger in the league, I'd be surprised. Not counting Tarkowski in my disappointment with us being Burnley MK2, as he has been an exceptional signing, especially on a free.

Less said about that gravel swilling excuse for a manager the better. I used to be annoyed at us signing Utd cast-offs, but we now sign anyone who has ever played for Burnley 🙄

Ben Doak off to Bournemouth for £25M + £5M extras
Could have easily been ours if we were bothered.
Liverpool would have rinsed us because we're their rivals. We would have been charged more - as they should do really. If we ever sold them a player, I would expect it to be for a lot more than we would get from anyone else.

No way we could have had a buy-back in with a player signed from our arch-rivals - that would have caused bedlam. Factor that in, and the fact it's us, the deal would have been Dibling levels of cost to us, I'm sure.

If Dyche had us a few points clearer than we were when they arrived Moyes would never have been back here at Everton and we'd now have TFG preferred manager in charge.

You have to assume that Moyes knows he's on borrowed time here unless he gets us top half.
Or moyes knew his successor from day one and has is working on that logic warming the seat ..
Be nice knowing the club is working long term rather than reactionary..
Time will tell I guess

Not sure title winning RS see us as a serious threat.
