Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It is defeatism, pure and simple, and the main reason I didn't want him back. He doesn't believe we can be a top team again.
I don't want to hear the defeatist talk either. I'd much rather he'd said, "good player but we don't talk about other club's players".

However, I'm 50 next year and I don't expect us to be a top team again in my lifetime. Not unless there is a major change. The dice are loaded in financial terms and we're on the outside looking in. A spawny cup is my best hope for a trophy.

I hate this kinda stuff. No manager at Everton should talk about us as tho we’re smalltime. The same response can easily be uttered putting us in a better light by saying ‘he should be interested in joining us, like all players, as we have a bright future with a new stadium and new owners’. I dont understand why thats so difficult for managers to understand.

He’s always been like that. He calls his previous spell here a success.

Same here. Could've wrote this word for word...

It’s his self-imposed glass ceiling
Exactly that. Ceiling could be made of wet toilet paper for all that matters. He has no intention of reaching for it. Moyes is a safety manager. As I said when he resigned. "The plucky little Everton punching above their weight" lines by the media, were his comfort zone. Don't hate him, did a good job in stabilizing us, but give him £600m to invest and we still won't be reaching for that ceiling under him.
