Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

For the money being spent, I expect the so-called elite players to be honest. Higher calibre.
The way a handful of mega rich clubs have spent this summer, led by Socialist FC, has distorted the market and inflated fees for mid range players. Teams who hold the contracts for19 year olds with potential like Dibling and Fofana believe they can look for £40-50m in this market and it seems they are right.

Assuming we find agreement on the price and deal structure for Dibling and KDH I think that leaves us spreading ~£20-30m over RB, another CM and at least one (ideally two) more attackers in fees/loan fees/signing-on fees (for players on frees). Easy to see how another wages only loan for Harrison might become ‘attractive’ to us late window.

We've lamented the fact we've not done much business so far and yet as soon as we're on the verge of the couple of deals,it's panic buying.

Crazy.

I mean it literally can be both of those things. If we’re paying £20m more than we initially bid for a player, then that would suggest we have maxed out our available options and are just trying to get a player through the door at all costs. So really, this situation looks to be a direct consequence of starting our transfer window planning on the 1st July instead of May when we should’ve started it.

Yet we can only sell Maupay for €4m.
