Since I’m being openly mocking and critical, I’ll weigh in.

I’d rather see new blood this season and finish similar to last season than keep running out the same midfield and re-live last season.

For example, Hackney might not be a finished product, but I’d rather give him a shot and hope for upside than continue with a midfield which cannot complete a progressive pass and know it will never get better.

Hopefully we get new blood and they prove to be better, but every transfer is a risk when you can’t throw £70M at a star or attract talent without CL/Europa.

We need more than one RW option. We need more than one CM option (to let Iroegbunam find a good development loan). We need a RB so we can send Patterson to Stranraer/wherever. We need a third striker or hybrid forward who can cover it if we want to give Chermiti a development loan. We have needed all of this all window as well as the work already done. Our needs were enormous and remain extensive.

My worry is we get 'one' of each position and then that's it. We need at least 2 in each position. We need cover as our pre season has shown, we just don't have the numbers. We need replacements for those lost from last season and replacements for players that we have that are not cutting the mustard. We also want to be stronger than last season because don't we want to improve? Don't we want to challenge? The last two decent squads we had under Ancelotti and Martinez, far stronger than we have now.

mad seeing some of the we dont need a rb right now or its not a priority posts. We are one injury away from having either keane or patterson starting league games for us.

New first 11 RW, CM RB are an absolute must if we want to be attempting top 10 finish.

If our recruiting team ( don’t laugh ) can’t find better than him, perhaps it’s time to give up all hope for any improvement in our fortunes .

Why? Because we need players!... Is he an exciting move? Absolutely not. Doesnt mean we cant try for a Luiz or McAtee type as well... Does he bring anything less than Tim or Garner? Absolutely not plus he knows where the net is which is a rare commodity in our team...jeez, we are shopping in Tier 3 now people, lets have an ounce of realism.
