Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Needed more or less than a Right Winger, Centre midfielder, Striker (done) and left back (done)?
RW/CM are main priorities but RB is also high on the list for me after those. RW and CM need to come in before the first game at least. RB ideally too but if not and we have a fit back 4 from last season it's not so bad. By the end of the window though I'd like to have a starting RB so Patterson is ideally gone on loan or a perm.

Well that's exactly what I'm saying isn't it

Needed, but less of a priority compared to other areas

Im with you that in an ideal world we get an upgrade there, but this world is far from ideal. Think it will be a position we target either much later in the window (once we've got other deals sorted and we know what transfer and wage budget we have remaining) or, more likely, in Jan or next Summer

We need more than one RW option. We need more than one CM option (to let Iroegbunam find a good development loan). We need a RB so we can send Patterson to Stranraer/wherever. We need a third striker or hybrid forward who can cover it if we want to give Chermiti a development loan. We have needed all of this all window as well as the work already done. Our needs were enormous and remain extensive.

The measure of the front office is starting to take shape because there is a big differance between pursuing the big players vs ramming in deal sheets for the leftovers on deadline day

We are not paying people big bucks in the front office to do easy work and snare lower targets.

OF course signings are close, stop being a negative nancy, we will sign 6 players in the next 4 weeks.
The only deal on the go with Everton at the moment is Dibling... It`ll take Everton weeks to sort just that out.

The new structure, being as we are the only club in the Premier League using it, you have to say on the face of it looks to be failing already.

Sent the manager a team with only 13/14 1st team players to a competition we knew we would get absolutely smashed in, I predicted this and I was right yet again....

We had Alcaraz, the player wanted to come and after the loan it still took weeks to complete. You can change the owner but it still appears that on the footballing side it is still massively shambolic!

Just listened to The Bobbles podcast, apparently we have been granted permission to talk to Dibling but no fee agreed yet. I'm not sure if that's a point to get excited yet

I mean this looks quality. Should be capable of a top half finish if those couple of positions get filled.

May lack squad depth underneath that so that’s where the late loans will need to come in to the equation.

We aren`t getting Grealish, it`s a pipe dream... which outlets are reporting Everton are looking at CMs and a RB? None, just been linked with Luiz and that is it, he won`t end up here.

Anyone making the Brownhill shouts has learnt nothing from recent years.

If we want to progress, we cannot be signing rubbish like that as squad filler.

Ideally, every signing we make should be stronger than what we currently have. It's not easy, but it seems to be in line with what the club are trying to do

Anything else, such as rubbish like Brownhill, just means we go round and round in our current cycle of despair
