I take it as the club has it's value of a player and the value they want to try to get the player at and likely has agreed in certain cases that we may need to exceed these numbers but only at a certain point in time.
Moyes is basically saying, ok, need to move into the less hardnose stage and be one more flexible to get the players in wanted.
I think in the first instance weve been trying to get the player on side, then negotiate the deal down, thats what we did with Barry mate.
Looking at this logically, Moyes has prob spoken to about 10 players we are interested in - sold them the footballing vision, might know their preferences and then radio silence - the club trying to negotiate the best deal..... That would be my read of it. Interesting the comments came on the day, Forest bid £25 mill for McAtee.........
