Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

To be honest I wouldn't rule out either, many said the same when Morgan Gibbs White (albeit I didn't fancy that feeling to be honest) and Elliot Anderson linked... They have turned out rather well for Forest.
Think Gibbs White had a bit more hype about him and has that extra little bit of X factor.
But you are spot on about Anderson, solid but unspectacular, but his energy, strength and ability to be constantly involved has been great for them.
He was pretty expensive (PSR fiddle or not) but these type of players are needed as well as your Jurgen Folybun who's stats for Utrecht Frankfurt in the Swaziland Super Liga are seen as stupendous

Fear we end up with Soucek having just listened to bobble update guess it would be ok if in tandem with some younger midfielders, to me though we need to move away from paying aging players big money. Also worrying Gana may not sign up
If we lose Coleman & possibly Young, Gana & Doucoure the dressing room is going to be very short of players from our 'leadership group'.
We saw on Saturday with Tarkowski going off how light we are in that department.
Soucek would be perfect for 2-3 years

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Gibbs white was a kid and always had talent he’s on another planet to them two. Elliot Anderson was a PSR sell and again he was young, so potential to improve, though 35mil was ridiculous. Longstaff and brownhill turn 28 and 30 early into next season and are both journeyman. That don’t improve us one bit, both would struggle to get games now and surely the whole point is to get better.

I get on free’s and loans we may have to use that market for 2 or 3 players. But we can do better than brownhill and spending on Longstaff would be a joke

Bobble also said don’t believe everything you hear, at this point it’s just hearsay. He said if soucek was available at the right price Moyes would be interested, 2 things 1 is what’s the right price and 2 does Moyes have the final say ?

Mykolenko is absolutely bang average. Think it’s 1 assist in what 3 years? We need a far bigger output in both full back areas. Solid enough defender but we should be striving for better IMO.
How long did he play under the Dyche negative defend only football? He would be low on the list of areas to improve, as other positions are in need of desperate attention.

mykolenko is decent defensively but he can’t attack

imagine someone who could and with real pace in tandem with n’diaye

would change a whole dynamic of our play

…especially with Branthwaite so good at covering that channel behind the LB, it’s just such a waste having such a one dimensional LB.

Having Branthwaite gives a LB more leeway to attack, there’s been no blend or cohesion to our transfer acquisitions.

Would understand a soucek if gana leaves and well even if he stays not saying is my prefered choice. But can see why moyes would bring him in, same with longstaff again as a squad option becuase of players leaving and would still like to see another come in to develop. With players leaving could need 3 cm

Your definition of a journeyman player is amusing.
Brownhill - played for 3 permanent clubs in 12 seasons (1 additional club on loan)
Longstaff - 1 permanent club in 10 seasons (2 loans).

You can challenge their quality but journeymen they are not

Soucek will be good for us for a few years. We’ve completely messed the right back situation up with the Patterson signing

20m for a player on big wages who will likely only have a few good seasons left is that really good use of funds? Longstaff as a squad filler I get. I also understand we need a mix of youth and experience I just think we should be looking at younger and more hungry in the main, saddling ourselves with players who could easily go off a cliff soon and we have no resale, is what we have done before. Also whilst he is a threat in the air we need to find pace in every attacking area for me. We could target a left winger and move Ndiaye into the ten even.
