What is disappointing this summer is there’s no Zaha, Grealish, Leon Bailey, or Ivan Toney candidate yet.

You know the player that the collective forum develops an obsession with and suddenly thinks it’s reasonable for Everton to pay 70 mill for them even though there’s absolutely zero chance of them ever joining.

Maybe Delap might step into that role.

I’m sure I remember someone on here saying we should pay mega money for Tariq Lamptey from Brighton. Could probably get him for free now.

Think as far as the forward shouts go, if Utd are looking at Delap I'd be shocked and it really would be a sign of how far they've fallen.

So far as forwards that are available go, this Summer you'll probably have Jonathan David, Gyokeres, Ivan Toney as well if he wants back in the England squad for the WC. That's Arsenal, Utd and Chelsea targets there.

Read an article in last couple days that Amorim tried to get Delap as backup to Gyokeres at Lisbon. Must be a fan of his but I'd imagine Gyokeres will be his number 1 target this summer

Reckon they would have to shift Richarlison or Solanke or both out imo before they get another striker in. They will be hard to offload too as they are notorious for not wanting to make much of a loss on players

I think the Kalvin Philips ship has sailed on here tbh.

He`s done zero at Ipswich and doesn`t look properly fit or even arsed most of the time.

It wasn't our money either when Moshiri spend big on dross which almost sank the club. None of us want to see the club in that position ever again

Moshiri spent big initially and he became a tightwad at the end, not sure what you are asking?
Whatever fees we paid were overpriced massively in Moshiris time, but it still wasn't our money or decision.
Would you sooner us not buy a great midfielder or forward because of the fee?
There are loads of clubs at our level currently, all in for the same players, at some stage, we are going to have to pay over the odds.

….Sporting paying Coventry £25m for Gyokeres whilst selling Chermiti to us for circa €15m (on the never, never) looks very good business for them now.
